Award-winning journalist Christopher Baxter currently works as a reporter for New Jersey’s largest news source, The Star-Ledger and its online home, NJ.com, based in Newark. He covers the New Jersey State Police, Attorney General’s Office and the environment from the newspaper’s Statehouse Bureau in Trenton. Prior to joining The Star-Ledger in 2011, Baxter worked for The Morning Call in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley covering the city of Allentown, the state’s third-largest city. Prior to covering Allentown, he covered the city of Easton, the Easton Area School District and various other municipalities, focusing on issues of education, local government, the environment and access to public records.

Baxter graduated in 2008 from Ithaca College in Ithaca N.Y. with a dual bachelor’s degree in journalism and politics. While in school, Baxter excelled during news internships with The Boston Globe, The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, Va.), The Morning Call and the Concord (N.H.) Monitor.
