Ever wonder how the Internet crosses oceans?

Gigantic underwater cables. And for an unconfirmed reason, a few of them broke recently, causing Internet outages and related problems across the Middle East, India and Bangladesh. In an age of such instantaneous business and connectivity, this incident serves as a reminder of how quickly communication can be disrupted. So much of the world economy relies on the technology infrastructure that future individuals or state actors could see cables such as these as a valuable target.
