A summer in Boston

Summer 2008 at The Boston GlobeIt’s difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel when I’m poring through bunches internship applications and clips. But even though the process is difficult, the reward is always so sweet. This week I formally accepted an internship for the coming summer at The Boston Globe. I’ll be a metro reporter working out of the main office in South Boston, and I’ll be working a lot.

Since my time at the Concord Monitor while in high school, I’ve aspired to experience being a journalist at The Globe. I’m eager to work in a major metropolitan market and see if it’s the environment I’d like for my future career. But as graduation nears, I’m still anxious about the future. I’m hopeful the contacts and friendships I make will lead me to exciting new opportunities that helps shape the unknown future of journalism across the world.
