I’ve been slow to update the blog.
The last month in South Africa was the craziest of all. Between my independent study project, buying gifts and taking in every last possible minute on Durban’s beaches, sitting on my computer was the last thing on my mind.
The flight home was long, but exciting. I spent nearly 24 hours on planes that day, but was extremely happy to see my family. I’ve since spent many days wishing I was back in South Africa - wandering through the downtown, risking my life in taxis or dropping everything and walking to the beach. Not to mention cheering on the cricket team.
I had a week at home with my family before I again packed up my life and drove down to Norfolk, Virginia. I’m interning here for The Virginian-Pilot newspaper. I’m the regional intern, basically covering anything and everything that’s tossed my way.
As the summer progresses, I’ll post each story here, on the blog, for you to read. I’ll also post any pictures I take as a wander around this part of the country, which seems, on first impression, to be full of life and excitement.
I hope you enjoy the stories, and feel free to post your comments here or on The Virginian-Pilot Web site.
